ALERT Update: Bug fixed in latest FXCM Trading Station Version 01.13.111313

The issue of corrupted data running multiple instances of one strategy / App is resolved in the latest version of the FXCM Trading Station Desktop platform, which can be downloaded from the FXCM web-site. The version number is 01.13.111313.

If you do not have this version installed (verify under Help and About), it is recommended to perform a complete un-install, and do a clean installation of the latest platform version.

Please do note that there is no forced update to the latest platform version, so you need to perform the un-install and clean installation manually at this point of time.

ALERT UPDATE: Running multiple App instances at the same time

Further to the most recent post (see below), it is recommended to also use different file names of the App even if you run multiple instances on only one instrument, e.g. for the purpose of hedging when opening a long and a short position, or when running two or more App instances on different time frames of one instrument.

You can as an example use a naming convention creating copies of the EntryApp.bin file such as:

EntryApp_EURUSD_m5_Long.bin
EntryApp_EURUSD_m5_Short.bin
EntryApp_EURUSD_H4_Long.bin
EntryApp_EURUSD_H4_Short.bin

This is just one example, feel free to use any naming convention that suits you best. Just make sure, that all file names created are unique.

ALERT: Platform Issue when running multiple App instances on different instruments!

The current version of the FXCM Trading Station II has an initialisation issue when running more than one instance of the App on different instruments.

In general, any strategy which is applied multiple times on different instruments will mess up the first strategy applied, and may cause entries on the instrument of the last instance applied.

The issue is documented here: http://www.fxcodebase.com/code/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=40395&start=10#p92098

This is not a bug of the Entry App, and there is a work-around for the time being:

Generate copies of the App and apply a file name which includes the instrument's name which you want to use it for.

An example is, that you use the App on EUR/USD, USD/JPY, and GER30. Thus, create three copies of the original EntryApp.bin file and rename them as follows:

EntryApp_EURUSD.bin
EntryApp_USDJPY.bin
EntryApp_GER30.bin

You can use the first file to run on EUR/USD exclusively, use the second file to run on USD/JPY exclusively, and the third file to run on GER30 only.

New Integrated App will be released next week

A new App will be released next week.

This App allows to chose the entry type (market entry, stop entry, or limit entry), the number of partial profit Levels (1 - 10), and optional trailing stop for the last limit stage.

There are also further improvements for the robustness against network connection losses of the trading platform before a conditional entry opens a position and after a position close, thus spanning the entire time from App start until App close no matter the entry type chosen.

Stay tuned.
